The first official trailer for Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin has been released.

Based on the 1992 animated classic starring Robin Williams, the new movie – helmed by Guy Ritchie – sees Will Smith taking on the role of the iconic Genie of the Lamp.

In the new trailer, which was dropped today, we see the action-packed adventure awaiting the titular street rat, played by the hunk Mena Massoud as well as our new Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and the gorgeous Marwan Kenzari as villain Jafar.

We also see some of the most-loved Disney characters brought to life including Aladdin’s sidekick Abu, Jasmine’s loyal tiger Rajah and the brilliant, and some would argue the hero of the film, the Magic Carpet.

Unlike the teaser trailer, which gave a glimpse of Smith’s Genie, we finally hear a snippet of the iconic song ‘A Whole New World’ – which was nearly ruined by Katie Price and Peter Andre – but thankfully it appears Disney are reclaiming the amazing song.

Aladdin is set to be released this May so you’ll have to wait to see how Smith brings the loveable Genie to life.
