No second series for Tom Daley’s backpacking reality show

ITV2 have confirmed that Tom Daley Goes Global will not be renewed for a second series.
The fly-on-the-wall series followed the Olympic diver and his best friend Sophie as they backpacked around the world, visiting destinations such as Thailand and Australia. It aired for six episodes this April and May.
The Mirror reports that, after the show’s audience dropped to around 400,000 viewers, ITV2 have decided not to bring it back for a second series.
However, an ITV2 spokesperson insisted that Goes Global was never intended to return for a second run, telling the press:
“Tom Daley Goes Global followed a specific period in Tom’s life, as he took a break from his diving regime to embark on a gap-year experience and travel the world. As such, it was only ever intended to run for one series. But we love working with Tom and having him on the channel.”
