New LGBT film ‘Center Of My World’ will be released in the UK

By Joshua Haigh

Center Of My World (Die Mitte der Welt)

is one of the leading films at this year’s BFI Flare LGBT Film Festival and looks set to be one of the key queer films this year.

The German film is about a boy a named Phil who returns home to his provincial German town after spending a summer away at a French-language camp.

The 17 year old discovers a strange tension between his mum and sister but is unsure why. With his best friend Kat, the unshakable bond is tested when a new handsome boy starts at their school.

Director Jakob Erwa has created an energetic and inventive adaption of the young adult novel of the same name — and it’s like nothing you’ve seen before.

A story about teen odyssey, family drama and love, Center Of My World is a captivating film that hold you by your imagination from the first opening minutes.

The film will have a theatrical release, followed by being available on DVD and iTunes after its time at the BFI.
