It’s only March – but Netflix have just announced a gay Christmas-themed romantic comedy film for winter 2021.

The platform’s new movie Single All the Way will star Ugly Betty‘s Michael Urie alongside Philemon Chambers and Luke MacFarlane.

The film will also feature film legends Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie) and Kathy Najimy (Hocus Pocus), with Urie commenting: “If that isn’t some kinda gay Christmas miracle, I don’t know what is.”

Confirming the project last night, a Netflix rep said on Twitter of the film’s plot: “Peter, a perpetually single man whose best friend poses as his boyfriend just as his mom sets him up on an incredible blind date with her handsome trainer.”

“Friendship and love between gay men”

Michael Myer will direct. Producer Joel S. Rice told Variety: “What I love most about this hysterical, moving project is that it is simply a genuine holiday romantic comedy that explores friendship and love between gay men.”

Single All the Way follows a slew of well-received LGBTQ Christmas movies released last December, including the Kristen Stewart-starring Happiest Season, and the Jonathan Bennett-starring The Christmas House.
