Mel B has opened up Geri Halliwell leaving the Spice Girls without warning.

The singer aka Scary Spice has recalled the moment she found out that Geri aka Ginger Spice had decided to leave the group without any warning due to health reasons, but it is still a bitter memory for Mel.

While speaking on Loose Women on Tuesday (September 25), Mel said: “The fact she didn’t come to me. I consider her my best friend, well all of them, we’ve got really solid friendships.

“That bothered me more than anything, that she didn’t feel like she could talk to me and just tell me what’s going on. She was just gone.

“I searched for her in the hotel and I couldn’t find her and she’d got herself on a flight and headed back to England.

“She talks about it quite openly, she was in the crisis of a horrendous eating disorder and she felt no way out apart from to remove herself.

“Even that in itself made me feel so… I was a little bit angry because we had to redo the whole show.

“We searched the hotel and she was nowhere to be found, kidnapped or something. We were all kind of a bit frantic.

“Then we found out she had got on a flight and was heading back to England and then we went into overdrive mode to redo the entire show, but I was trying to call her the entire time.”

However, with Geri leaving the group, Mel continued that it made them all closer as they were able to “understand each other more”.

She continued: “In a weird way, it kind of made us closer, because we got to understand each other more and we got to have a proper conversation.

“We’re all about sisterhood and girl power, so to think that one of our girls felt that bad that she had to remove herself felt really daunting.”
