Matt Wilkas to play ‘macho gay police officer’ in RuPaul’s new Netflix series ‘AJ and the Queen’

The actor is in a relationship with Olympian Gus Kenworthy

Matt Wilkas has landed a recurring role in RuPaul’s new Netflix comedy series AJ and the Queen.

According to Deadline, the actor – who is in a relationship with Olympian Gus Kenworthy – will portray a ‘macho, gay police officer’ for the New York Police Department who is described as being ‘charming, easy going and comfortable in his own skin’.

The new series has been created by RuPaul and former Sex and the City showrunner Michael Patrick King.

RuPaul will also star in the show as Ruby Red, a down-on-her-luck drag queen who travels across America in a rundown 1990s RV with her sidekick AJ – played by Izzy G.

Josh Segarra (Arrow), Michael-Leon Wooley (The Princess and the Fog), Katerina Tannabaum (Sweetbitter) and Wayne’s World actress Tia Carrere have also joined the cast.
