Hilary Duff has returned to music with new single Chasing the Sun.

The track is the lead single from the singer’s upcoming fifth studio album, which is her first record since 2007’s Dignity.

Colbie Caillat, Jason Reeves and Toby Gad co-wrote the song, which Duff has described as a “light and fun summer song”.

The singer premiered a Dave Aude remix of Chasing the Sun at a special single launch party in New York City last week. She was joined by drag queens including RuPaul Drag Race‘s Milk, who performed her hits So Yesterday and Come Clean.

She has signed to RCA Records for her latest project, and has also worked with Ed Sheeran on new material – find out more here.

Duff recently responded to reports that she was offered Charli XCX’s current hit song Boom Clap, but turned it down, saying that it is her “favourite song on the radio right now” – read more here.
