The renewal comes just days before the premiere of the show’s fourth run, which sees Hannah (Dunham) leaving Brooklyn behind to study at a writers’ workshop in Iowa.

A trailer for the new episodes also teased a rivalry between Hannah and Jessa (Kirke) for Adam’s (Adam Driver) affection – watch the preview here.

Zachary Quinto has been confirmed to guest star in the upcoming season – read more here.

Girls season four begins Sunday (January 11) on HBO in the US, and Monday (January 12) on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
