Lana Del Rey has cancelled her upcoming UK tour dates after falling ill.

The ‘Video Games’ singer, 34, announced on Thursday (20 February) that she’d been forced to scrap the entire UK and European leg of The Norman Fucking Rockwell! Tour less than 48 hours before it was set to kick off in Amersterdam.

Del Rey, who was due to perform in London, Manchester and Glasgow next week, explained in a statement she had been advised by doctors to take four weeks off after losing lost her voice.

“Sorry to let everyone down so last minute but this illness has taken me by surprise and have totally lost my singing voice”, she said.

“Dr has advised 4 weeks off for the moment. I hate to let everyone down but I need to get well. Love Lana.”

Signalling that the cancelled dates are unlikely to be rescheduled, organisers advised fans to contact their ticket seller for refunds.

“It’s with regret that Lana Del Rey today announces that she has been forced to cancel her entire upcoming EU/UK tour due to illness”, a statement read.

Del Rey, who’s most recent album, Norman Fucking Rockwell! was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys last month, is still set to perform in the UK at Glastonbury this June.
