Lambert criticises male popstars for “pandering” to gay audiences

Adam Lambert has criticised straight male popstars who “pander” to the gay community.

The gay former American Idol star made the remarks on Twitter this week (November 11), insisting in a succession of tweets that he wants to hear about a popstar’s music, not whether they “might be bi-curious or gay.”

In an interview last month (October), current Attitude cover star Nick Jonas responded to critics who’ve suggested that he’s been using his body to “bait” the gay community.

“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion,” Jonas told PrideSource. “I think it’s unfortunate that some people have to find a negative in every situation.”

“Clearly my heart is in the right place, and more than anything, if they just looked at my life and my gay friends and the authentic nature of where my heart is, they’d just see that they’re kind of ignorant,” he added.

Meanwhile, Maleficent star Brenton Thwaites appeared to come out as bisexual during an interview earlier this week – find out more here.
