They’re back! Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are returning to Neighbours and we’ve got the first-look images of the iconic couple who are looking loved up and cute.

Returning as Charlene and Scott, the two stars who came to prominence on Ramsay Street will appear in the final episode of the long-running Australian drama.

In an Instagram post showing some BTS shots, Kylie wrote: “Now we’re back together”.

Posting the same images on his account Jason said: “So good to be back with this absolute legend @kylieminogue”

Fans are being promised a “gripping and emotional finale” following the announcement earlier this year that the show was being cancelled.

The finale will air in the UK at 9 pm on 29 July with the penultimate episode broadcasting in the usual 1:45 and 6 pm slots on Channel 5.

Channel 5 is also broadcasting two special episodes on the finale evening with Neighbours: The Stars’ Greatest Hits exploring the music from some of Erinsborough’s current and former residents (we hope for at least a few Kylie bops)

And Neighbours: What Happened Next? will look at the stars who rose to fame on the show and what they went on to after exiting including Kylie, Jason, as well as Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce.

Neighbours fans were devastated in February when it was announced that Channel 5 is dropping the show from its schedule come August 2022.

Kylie and Jason were both tipped to return shortly afterward. More than 20 million people tuned in to watch Charlene and Scott tie the knot in 1988.

Neighbours: The Finale will air Friday 29 July at 9 pm on Channel 5. Neighbours: What Happened Next? will air at 10:05 pm with Neighbours: The Stars’ Greatest Hits following at 11:30 pm.

The Attitude July/August issue is out now.
