Katy Perry to follow Madonna, Beyoncé at 2015 Super Bowl?

Katy Perry has been booked to perform at the 2015 Super Bowl, according to new reports.

Sources have apparently told Billboard that Perry – who was reportedly in the running for the prestigious gig alongside Rihanna and Coldplay – has been chosen to perform her biggest hits at the halftime show next year.

If Perry does land the slot, she will follow in the footsteps of Madonna, Beyoncé and Janet Jackson, who have all performed at the Super Bowl in recent years.

The latest report follows rumours earlier this year that the NFL was considering asking the halftime show performer to pay for the chance to perform at the Super Bowl, which attracts a massive audience worldwide. A record 111.5 million viewers watched the 2014 event, which featured a halftime show from Bruno Mars and a surprise appearance from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Perry recently told ESPN that she’s “not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl”. The NFL has yet to comment on the latest rumours that she has been booked to perform.
