Judy Garland fan pays £15,000 to be buried alongside star but finds out she’s been moved

A Judy Garland megafun has had a traumatic week after finding out that Garland’s resting place wasn’t where he thought it’d be.

According to Page Six, the fan paid around £15,000 to be buried beside Garland at her Ferncliff Mausoleum spot in New York.

However, the purchase proved meaningless when the fan found out on Thursday (February 2) that Garland’s body had actually been moved to Hollywood.

The star’s body was sent back to California at the request of her daughter, Liza Minnelli, who said that Ferncliff didn’t have enough room for the entire family to be buried alongside her.

Speaking to Page Six, a Ferncliff cemetery manager said he wasn’t sure what the stan would do now.

“It’s funny because there’s a man who specifically flew in from California because he’s a big fan of hers. He purchased a plot near her so when he dies he could be next to her. I don’t know what he’s going to do now.”

Garland, who previously starred in The Wizard of Oz, was buried at the Ferncliff Mausoleum in New York after her death in 1969 at the age of 47.
