James Franco’s gay porn drama gets premiere date

A new film based on the real life murder of gay porn baron Bryan Kocis, and starring James Franco, will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April.
King Cobra has been made by writer-director Justin Kelly, who directed Franco in I Am Michael, a 2015 festival hit.
The drama follows the early career of Sean Paul Lockhart, who rose to gay porn stardom as Brent Corrigan. He’s set to be played by former Disney star Garrett Clayton, who previously teased his portrayal of the notorious adult star on Instagram.
The movie also stars Pretty Little Liars’ Keegan Allen and former ’80s icon Molly Ringwald.
An official synopsis reads: “Offended by his paltry paycheck, Lockhart falls out with the owner, director, and producer Bryan Kocis (Christian Slater) of the label that made his famous Cobra video.
“When the newly minted sex symbol attracts the attentions of a cash-strapped pair of rival producers and performers (James Franco and Keegan Allen) an all out porn turf war ensues.”
Controversy surrounded the hit film Kocis had made with Lockhart, Schoolboy Crush, after it emerged he was underage when it was filmed.
Bryan Kocis was found stabbed to death in his Pennsylvania home in January 2007. Two escorts were subsequently given life imprisonment for the murder.
