Hugh Jackman has commented on ongoing rumours about his sexuality.

The Greatest Showman star, who has been married to Australian actress Debora-lee Furness for 22 years, insisted that speculation he is gay doesn’t “upset” him.

According to Metro, Jackman told a US radio station this week: “Some dudes do get upset, some dudes say ‘Don’t say I’m gay’ [but I am good]”.

The Aussie actor, 50, added that he believes the rumours stem from an incident on Broadway 15 years ago, when he was playing a gay singer-songwriter in stage musical The Boy From Oz.

Jackman revealed how a fit of giggles during one of the show’s romantic scenes led to an onstage kiss that lingered longer than was planned.

“I was literally just locking lips… I started to laugh so hard”, he explained.

“So I stay kissing him, because I thought ‘I’m just going to laugh. I’m going to stay here until it subsides’.

“It never subsided and the whole audience could see my body shaking, so they started [laughing].”
