With 2020 in full swing right now, we have compiled a list of the 10 hottest theatre productions heading to London’s West End this year – and there are so many of them!

Sister Act
Whoopi Goldberg is reprising her iconic role as Deloris Van Cartier in the West End revival of the hit musical production.
Starring alongside Jennifer Saunders, this is going to be a show that you cannot miss this year!
The production will be performed at the Eventim Apollo from July 2020.
4000 Miles
The star of Call Me By Your Name, Timothée Chalamet, is set to make his West End debut in 4000 Miles.
Chalamet will star opposite Dame Eileen Atkins in Amy Herzog’s 2011 play about a young man visiting his grandmother after a cycling trip.
4000 Miles will run from April 6 to May 23 at the Old Vic.
Frozen
Producers confirmed the musical, which opened in New York last year and has been nominated for three Tony Awards, will arrive at the Drury Lane Theatre in Autumn 2020.
Last year, it was announced that Samantha Barks will be taking over the role of Queen Elsa in the new West End production.
The show will open in October 2020, with priority booking available from January 2020.
Sunday in the Park with George
Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford will star in Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at The Savoy Theatre for 12 weeks only.
The critically-acclaimed Broadway production will transfer to London from June 2020 to September 2020.
Hairspray
Michael Ball is reprising his Olivier Award-winning role as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray at the London Coliseum!
From the original award-winning creative team of director Jack O’Brien and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, the John Waters musical will run from April 23 to August 30
Hello, Dolly!
Imelda Staunton is back where she belongs in Hello, Dolly! at the Adelphi Theatre.
This brand new production re-unites Imelda with Director Dominic Cooke following the critically acclaimed production of Follies at the National Theatre.
Running from August 11 to March 6, 2021, this will be a show not to be missed.
Pretty Woman: The Musical
One of Hollywood’s most beloved stories of all time is now coming to the West End!
Pretty Woman: The Musical features direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Hairspray), an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance.
Starring Hollyoaks and Strictly Come Dancing’s Danny Mac, we cannot wait to see the new production.
The Prince of Egypt
Based on the classic DreamWork’s animation, The Prince of Egypt is landing at the Dominion Theatre from February.
Featuring the Academy Award-winning, chart-topping song, ‘When You Believe’, the new musical is from three-time Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked).
The production will run from February 5 to September 12.
Orlando
A stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s boundary-pushing novel, ‘Orlando’, is set to open at the Barbican after its premiere at the Schaubühne Berlin.
Woolf’s dazzling novel on gender fluidity is gleefully adapted, extending across centuries to the present day.
As Orlando travels between historical periods, countries and lovers, glancing knowingly at the audience, their journey is caught on camera, mixed with pre-recorded footage and projected – all with a wardrobe team making quick-fire changes in plain sight.
Romeo and Juliet
God’s Own Country star Josh O’Connor and Jessie Buckley star in the National Theatre’s production of the classic Shakespeare tragedy.
Directed by Simon Godwin, the pair will be joined by Fisayo Akinade as Mercutio in the production, which runs in the Olivier in August 2020.
