UK viewers may finally be closer to watching Heated Rivalry, with new signs pointing towards an imminent release deal – as the Canadian drama is also confirmed to return for a second season.
The hockey romance series, which launched late last month, has yet to secure a UK broadcaster or streaming platform, leaving British fans unable to access the first season despite its rapid rise in popularity elsewhere.
Now, however, a new industry report suggests that situation may soon change. According to Deadline, several UK buyers are said to be interested in acquiring Heated Rivalry, with negotiations described as being “imminent”.
The update marks the strongest indication yet that Heated Rivalry will land in the UK
While no official announcement has been made, the update marks the strongest indication yet that the series will land in the UK in the near future.
Speculation had previously centred on HBO Max, which is set to launch in the UK in March 2026. The show currently streams on the platform in the US and Australia, leading to expectations that it could form part of the UK launch slate.
Deadline reports that HBO Max will stream Heated Rivalry across Europe in the near future, though the UK, Ireland, Spain and Turkey are not included in the current rollout.
In the meantime, the show’s future has been further secured with confirmation of a second season. In Canada, where Heated Rivalry airs on Crave, the streamer announced the renewal earlier today.

Sharing the news on the show’s official Instagram account, Crave wrote: “Screaming, crying, throwing up! #HeatedRivalry is confirmed for SEASON 2!”
Based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novel series, Heated Rivalry follows Canadian player Shane (Hudson Williams) and Russian rival Ilya (Connor Storrie), two professional enemies who are secretly involved in a relationship away from the ice.
The series has also attracted strong critical attention. It currently holds a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
