Happy birthday Anna Kendrick! 10 times she totally kicked arse

By Attitude Magazine

In the run up to the birthday of one of our most beloved American actresses, we’ve picked out our favourite moments that made us love the Pitch Perfect star just that little bit more.

From early beginnings, playing the role of Dinah Lord in Broadway’s 1998 High Society to recently calling out Jelly Belly for being transphobic, we just can’t get enough of the self-proclaimed “pale, awkward and very very small” actress.

Happy 30th, Anna.
1. The time she tried applying to be the fifth member of One Direction

2. When her sarcasm was almost too perfect

When Pitch Perfect co-star Rebel Wilson asked Kendrick in a MAX 60 Seconds interview if she’d rather be on People’s Sexiest List or the Most Intriguing People list, she responded perfectly.

“The Sexiest, I mean I don’t care about being intriguing or intelligent, that’s why I got into this business,” she said.

“Like one day, I looked into the mirror and I was like “the world just really needs to see my face and body.” It’s like my gift to the world.”

3. The time she served us Taco Bell realness

During an interview on TBS’ talk-show Conan, the queen of wit added how she can’t “eat Taco Bell before midnight.

“It’s like a reverse Gremlins thing. It has to be done under a cover of darkness,” she said.

4. Being a self-aware dick. We feel you, Anna

5. The time she summed up Pitch Perfect, well, pitch perfectly in an interview with Glamour

In the interview, she said when “you put together some singing and dancing and slick camera moves, and then throw in a couple of vagina jokes, people like it.” Yep!

6. When she called out Jelly Belly for being transphobic after they donated to an anti-trans organisation in 2013

7. Her talent for taking the most perfect candids of Zac Efron

8. This Tweet:

Two years after she tweeted this joke – yes, we’re giving her the benefit of the doubt and assuming it’s a joke – Anna starred alongside Reynolds in The Voices. NOT AWKWARD AT ALL, HEY.

9. When an Oscar-deserving feminist parody of Indiana Jones for Red Nose Day made us love her a little bit

Sending up an iconic scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Kendrick is armed with the imperative hat and whip on a mission to seize the Holy Grail, with only an objectifying and misogynistic knight in the way.

10. And the time she opened up about her type
