‘Gogglebox’, Jamie Dornan nominated for BAFTA TV Awards

Channel 4’s Gogglebox has been nominated for two prizes at this year’s BAFTA Television Awards.
The hit show – which features members of the public watching the week’s television – has been nominated for Reality & Constructed Factual, as well as the Radio Times Audience Award, which is voted for by the public.
Channel 4’s mini-series Southcliffe and comedy The IT Crowd lead this year’s nominees with four nods apiece.
Jamie Dornan has earned himself a nomination for Leading Actor for his performance in The Fall last year. He faces competition from Sean Harris (Southcliffe), Luke Newberry (The Flesh) and Dominic West (Burton And Taylor).
Broadchurch‘s Olivia Colman is up for Leading Actress against Helena Bonham Carter (Burton And Taylor), Kerrie Hayes (The Mill) and Maxine Peake (The Village).
Colman’s nod is just one of four nominations for the hit ITV detective series, but her co-star David Tennant has missed out on a nomination.
Meanwhile, the Soap & Continuing Drama category will be contested by Casualty, Coronation Street, EastEnders and Holby City. US series Breaking Bad and House Of Cards will take on Borgen and The Returned for the International prize.
The Graham Norton Show, A League Of Their Own, The Revolution Will Be Televised and Would I Lie To You? have been nominated in Comedy and Comedy Entertainment Programme.
The Arqiva BAFTA Television Awards 2014 will take place on Sunday, May 18.
