Joel Creasey has revealed he was the last comedian to have worked with Joan Rivers before her death in 2014.

The 27-year-old, who appeared on Australia’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, has opened up about working with the stand-up comedian before her death four years ago.

In an interview ahead of his upcoming London show, Creasey recalled how Rivers kick-started his career after having handpicked him to tour with her.

He told Gay Star News: “I toured with Joan Rivers and I was lucky to have learnt from the master. I worked with her the night before she went into a coma.

“She’s the reason I started to get cast on TV shows, I’ve got a lot to thank her for.”

Creasey, who is set to perform five shows at the Soho Theatre next month, also spoke about his love for London and its number of gay bars and nightclubs.

“Oh my God. I love partying in London, I become my naughtiest self in London,” he added.

“I love Porn Idol, and I’m bringing my boy and he’s never seen it. I told him, ‘Babe, you’re going to love it’.”

He then recalled a crazy night in London with RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon.

He said: “I can’t remember his name, but he was playing Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. But we ended up back in his apartment very late at night. And then he and Jinkx put on a two-person performance of all of Les Misérables. It was amazing!”
