First look at ‘Coven’ cast reunited on set of ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’

Surprise, b*tches.

By Will Stroude

After Ryan Murphy confirmed in June that the eigth season of American Horror Story would feature a crossover from two of the horror anthlogoy series’ most popular instalments – Murder House and Coven – everyone rightly lost their minds, and now we’ve given their first look at everyone’s favourite bitch witches back together on set.

Series creator Murphy sent fans into meltdown on Sunday (August 19) after sharing pictures of the stars of Coven on the set of American Horror Story: Apocalypse, including legendary rocker Stevie Nicks, who made a couple of memorable cameo appearances as herself back in 2013.

Pictured alongside the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman were Coven favourites Sarah Paulson (who plays Coven Supreme Cordelia Goode), Emma Roberts (Madison Montgomery), Lily Rabe (Misty Day), Taissa Farmiga (Zoe Benson), Gabourey Sidibe (Queenie) and Frances Conroy (Myrtle Snow).

“The Coven Returns. What a thrilling night with the legend Stevie Nicks on the set of AHS”, Murphy wrote alongside the pictures.

In a separate Instagram post he shared a picture of Paulson, Rabe and Nicks, writing: “The Return. Cordelia, Stevie and Misty casting a bewitching spell.”

Apocalypse is set to pick up plot threads established in Murder House, as the story of Michael Langdon aka The Anti-Christ (played by Cody Fern) is revisited as he approaches adulthood.

Given that Coven’s Misty, Madison, Myrtle and Queenie are all sadly deceased (we’re still not over poor Misty’s hellish demise, sob), we’ll be interested to see how the characters are written back into the show. Could The Anti-Christ literally be about to open the gates of hell?

Meanwhile, American Horror Story‘s Emmy-winning matriarch Jessica Lange is also set to make an eagerly-anticipated return to the series in a one-off episode directed by Sarah Paulson, Dame Joan Collins is playing the “glamourous” grandmother of Evan Peters’ character – because, you know, the show wasn’t gay enough already.

You don’t have long to wiat now either: American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres September 12 on FX in the US and September 24 in the UK.
