‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’ arrives on Netflix today

To celebrate, Attitude and Netflix present the BIG Eurovision Quiz this Saturday 27 June from 6.30pm BST on YouTube.

While the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest Contest this year denied us the chance to see Iceland’s brilliantly bonkers entry on the big stage, we are least being treated to an Icelandic entry of an altogether different kind thanks to Netflix’s new musical comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

The movie arrived on Netflix today (26 June), offering Eurovision fans a chance to enjoy the OTT antics of Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as struggling Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, whose lives are changed forever when they’re given the chance to represent their country at Eurovision.

Co-starring Attitude Summer issue cover star Dan Stevens as a dastardly Russian rival, Demi Lovato as a fellow contestant and former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan as Lars’ disapproving father, it’s got all the high-camp elemements you’d expect from a film based on the world’s most famous song contest.

With cameos from UK Eurovision commentator Graham Norton and a host of Eurovision stars past and present, it’s filling this year’s gap in the Eurovision schedule perfectly.

To mark the film’s release and continue the celebrations, Attitude and Netflix present the BIG Eurovision Quiz this Saturday 27 June from 6.30pm BST on YouTube.

As you and your friends put your Eurovision knowledge to the text in a series of incresingly crazy rounds, expect appearances from Eurovision royalty including Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker, Israeli superstar Netta, the brilliant-but-denied Swedish 2020 entry The Mamas, the lovely SuRie (sans stage invader), airborne Scooch and Blue’s Duncan James.

Add in exclusive lip-sync performances by Drag Race UK’s Divina De Campo (‘Rise Like A Phoenix’), Cheryl Hole (‘Fuego’) and Blu Hydrangea (‘Euphoria’), plus a spectacular finale from Jonny Woo himself channeling our Queen Celine Dion and her winning 1988 Swiss entry ‘Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi’, and we promise you have never seen the like – make sure you tune in!

Attitude and Netflix have teamed up to deliver The BIG Eurovision Song Contest Quiz for you to play along at home, and the cast and performances that make up our nigh 90-minute quiz show special will surprise and delight in equal measure. Expect nothing but the unexpected.
