Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer joins the cast of The Hunger Games prequel
If her Euphoria performance is anything to go by, hold on to your hat!

Hunter Schafer is the latest addition to the upcoming film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Based on Suzanne Collins’ novel of the same name, The Hunger Games prequel is set 64 years before the first Hunger Games and will follow the much-hated figure of President Snow in his youth.

Schafer will be stepping into the role of Tigris, Snow’s cousin and mentor, a prized stylist and revered member of the rebellion.
She joins the already cast Rachel Zegler and Josh Andrés Rivera, as well as Tom Blyth who is taking on the role of the evil dictator.
Schafer has proven herself to be a phenomenal dramatic actor in HBO’s Euphoria as troubled teen Jules, acting opposite co-star Zendaya.
She received widespread praise for co-writing a Euphoria episode in which she drew on her own experience as a trans woman for her character.
In an interview with LA Times last year, she opened up about the therapeutic experience: “It was about this strange spiral I was having about hormone therapy and making an analogy between learning how to find beauty within yourself.”
“Like, rather than wanting to be as beautiful as another cis woman, wanting to be as beautiful as something even grander, like the ocean,” she said.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be Schafer’s cinematic debut and is due for release on 17 November 2023.
