Dolly Parton posts picture of her Glastonbury ticket

By Nick Levine

Dolly Parton has posted a picture of her Glastonbury ticket on Twitter.

The country legend has ticket number 123 for the Somerset extravaganza, which begins officially tomorrow (June 26) – and obviously it’s a VIP ticket. Check it out below.

Parton, 68, will play on the festival’s iconic Pyramid Stage this Sunday (June 29) at 4.20pm – the so-called “legend” slot, which has previously featured appearances from the likes of Shirley Bassey, Paul Simon and Brian Wilson.

To celebrate her appearance at the festival, a series of ‘Dolly flash mobs‘ have been planned at Glastonbury, with revellers encouraged to learn choreography and break into a dance routine whenever the singer’s classic 1973 hit Jolene is played over the course of the weekend. Glastonbury 2014 will be headlined by Arcade Fire, Metallica and Kasabian, and also includes performances from Lana Del Rey, Blondie and Lily Allen. Tickets for the event are now sold out, but festival coverage will be provided across the weekend on Radio 1 & 1Xtra, 6Music, BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four.
