Disney’s Frozen has become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time.

The wintry film has now taken $1.072 billion at the box office worldwide to overtake the previous record-holder, 2010’s Toy Story 3, which grossed $1.063 billion, Variety reports.

Frozen took home two awards at this year’s Oscars on March 2: ‘Best Animated Feature’ and ‘Best Original Song’ for Let It Go.

Let It Go peaked at number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart earlier this month (March 16), and also reached the top 20 in the UK. It was revealed earlier this month that the song, which has been adopted as a “coming out” anthem, will be remixed by Armin van Buuren for DConstructed, a collection of remixed Disney hits featuring input from the likes of Avicii and KASKADE.

Disney CEO Bob Igor has recently hinted that more Frozen films could be on their way, saying: “This has real franchise potential”.

Frozen is released on DVD and Blu ray tomorrow (March 31).
