RuPaul’s Drag Race star Courtney Act and former Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears will make their cameo in Neighbours.

For a year, we’ve known that the long-running Channel 5 soap will be filming scenes at the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and it appears the episodes will be airing very soon.

To mark the annual event – which runs from February 14 to March 1 this year – Neighbours have managed to get hold of some iconic LGBTQ figures to make guest appearances.

In the storyline, we see David and Aaron (played by Takaya Honda and Matt Wilson respectively) – the first same-sex couple to be married in an Australian TV drama – head to Sydney to enjoy the festivities.

And thanks to Aaron’s celebrity connections from his dancer days, the couple bump into Jake Shears and Courtney Act in the episode set to air on February 28.

We learn that Aaron once auditioned Jake Shears and is seen showing off some of his dance moves.

The episode will also bring drama as the couple bump into Aaron’s ex-stalker Mick Allsop.
