A number of closest celebrities are allegedly worried former X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins will ‘out’ them during his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

In a new interview with the Daily Star, the former Attitude cover star has argued that it’s time closeted celebrities stopped hiding who they really are from the public.

“I know more than a few closeted musicians in the industry and public eye who just won’t talk about it. It’s time for change,” said the singer.

“It’s incredibly important to have visible role models for all of us,” he added. “I get letters from fans saying how happy they are that I was open about my sexuality on X Factor as there are not that many openly gay singers/performers in the UK.”

Celebrity Big Brother begins on January 7 on Channel 5.
