Billy Eichner is set to write and star in a new gay rom-com.

The actor and comedian – who is best known for Billy on the Street, American Horror Story and Friends from College – has teamed up with director Nick Stoller for a new movie, according to Deadline.

The currently untitled rom-com will follow two men with commitment issues who attempt to maintain a relationship with each other.

Although there’s not much more information about the upcoming production, Stoller is co-producing the film under Judd Apatow’s Apatow Productions banner.

On Twitter, Eichner promised to ‘not let’ the LGBT+ community down and wrote: “Getting emotional reading all your messages about this, especially from my LGBTQ friends. I will do my best not to let you down!!!”

Could this be the gay rom-com we have been waiting for?
