Beyoncé delivers spectacular surprise performance at the BET Awards – WATCH

By Attitude Magazine

Following the Tony Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, the Brit Awards and the Grammy Awards, it was time for another major show 2016 landmark this weekend in the form of the BET Awards.

The BET Awards celebrate the African-American community and other minorities in all entertainment fields, and the night saw the likes of Serena Williams and top singers Rihanna, Drake, and Beyoncé take home awards.

Queen Bey brought a slice of her Formation World Tour to proceedings with a performance of the anthemic ‘Freedom’, from her latest studio album Lemonade. The 34-year-old was joined on stage for the stunning performance by Kendrick Lamar, who’s verse includes politically-charged lyrics such as: ”Yeah, open our mind as we cast away oppression/Yeah, open the streets and watch our beliefs.”

‘Formation’ dancers arose in the audience moving along Martin Luther King’s iconic ‘I Have A Dream’ speech. Onstage Beyonce appeared standing straight, empowered as ever, and began giving the audience some serious vocals as she quite literally set fire to the rain.

The 34-year-old, who brings her world tour to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light tonight (June 28), promptly disappeared right after she performed, letting mum Tina pick up her prizes.

Four minutes later, it’s Lamar who unexpectedly joined in the show as he made his way to the Queen for more dancing in the water.

Following her show in Sunderland tonight, Bey is set to play shows in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff over the next week. Britain, it’s time to get in formation.
