Bette Midler announces new covers album ‘It’s The Girls!’

Bette Midler has announced details of her new album It’s The Girls!

The singer will pay tribute to various girl groups on the covers album, which will be released in the UK on November 17.

The album will feature 15 cover songs, including Midler’s interpretation of TLC’s Waterfalls and The Supremes’ You Can’t Hurry Love.

The Chordettes’ Mr Sandman, The Bosswell Sisters’ It’s The Girl and The Chiffons’ One Fine Day will also be included.

Midler said that her enduring love for “voices in harmony” inspired her new record.

“In particular, the sound of female voices singing together. There were so many great girl groups in those days, I still listen as avidly as I ever did. This record is a small attempt to honour them for all the joy they brought to me and the world,” she said.
