Ben Platt has teased the second season of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series The Politician is ‘lit’.

The actor stars as student Payton who fights to win a high-school election with the ultimate aim of running for President of the United States.

Last year, it was confirmed by the star of the show that it was in production back in November but there is still no announcement of a release date as of yet.

But now, Platt has teased that the new series will be ‘lit’ and posted on Twitter: “spoiler @the_Politician season 2 is lit”

Murphy’s political drama stars the likes of Jessica Lange, Gwyneth Paltrow, Theo Germaine, Laura Dreyfuss, Julia Schlaepfer, Lucy Boynton and Zoey Deutch.

The series also feature icons Bette Midler and Judith Light and in his thread on Twitter, Platt teased what the return of the two actresses and said that they ‘will destroy you’.

He wrote: “spoiler #2 @BetteMidler & @JudithLight will destroy u”

Although no information about the second series has been released yet, we are suspecting it will pick up where season one ended, pitting Payton against Midler and Light in the fight for New York City.
