Ryan Murphy is developing a new musical comedy series for Netflix.

The streaming giant ordered two seasons of The Politician, a new hour-long musical comedy from Glee creators Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

Tony award winner Ben Platt will reportedly star in the show, with Barbra Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow in talks to appear too.

According to Deadline, the show will follow the story of Playton (Platt), a wealthy Santa Barbra resident who decides to enter the world of politics and much like Murphy’s previous shows, each season will follow a different political race Payton is involved in while also featuring musical numbers.

Production will reportedly start this summer and Murphy is set to direct the pilot. Reports caim Streisand will also direct episodes of the show if her deal closes.

The deal, which is believed to be the biggest TV package sale of the year, came after a week-long bidding war between Amazon, Hulu and Netflix.

The news comes after the launch of Murphy’s latest series 9-1-1, the announcement of new Netflix series Ratched as well as his ongoing shows Feud, PoseAmerican Crime and Horror Story
