ABBA reunite for first live performance in 30 years

By Samuel McManus

All four members of ABBA have appeared together in public in Sweden for the first time in 30 years, surprising fans with an impromptu performance.

ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson held a private party to celebrate their 50 year songwriting partnership on Sunday (5 June) evening, and in an amazing twist, it transpired that their former partners and bandmembers Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were on hand to support the gala.

Agentha and Anni-Fryd poignantly performed the ABBA song ‘The Way Old Friends Do’ before being joined by Benny and Bjorn.

The group’s last public performance took place in 1986 on the Swedish version of This Is Your Life, honouring their manager Stig Anderson.

While footage has yet to surface, images of the quartet’s incredible reunion have appeared on social media.
