‘A Star is Born’ lands five Golden Globes 2019 nominations including Best Film

The movie will go head-to-head against LGBT movies 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and 'Boy Erased'

A Star is Born has landed five Golden Globes 2019 nominations.

The 2018 reboot of the classic musical movie starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper – who also made his directorial debut with the film – instantly became a hit among fans and it’s no surprise that the film has been nominated for five Golden Globes.

The film saw Lady Gaga take on her first leading lady role as aspiring singer/songwriter Ally and the singer-turned-actress has landed a nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.

Director and co-star Cooper also landed nominations for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director – Motion Picture.

The film is also nomination for Best Motion Picture – Drama as well as Best Original Song for the hit ‘Shallow’ – which you still cannot get away from while listening to the radio.

A Star is Born is set to go head-to-head with the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody with leading man, and former Attitude cover star, Rami Malek – who plays Queen frontman Freddie Mercury – also being nominated for Best Actor.

Ryan Murphy’s new LGBT show Pose has also landed two nominations for Best Television Series and for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series for Billy Porter.

The gay conversion therapy movie Boy Erased has also landed an nomination for Best Actor for Lucas Hedges as well as Best Original Song for ‘Revelation’.
