A-List star Austin Armacost tipped for Celebrity Big Brother

By Attitude Magazine

US reality television star Austin Armacost is to appear in the latest edition of Celebrity Big Brother, which premieres on Channel 5 at the end of August.

It was revealed by The Mirror today last year the openly-gay model had met several times with producers to originally discuss appearing in the January edition of the program, but will now feature in the forthcoming UK vs USA theme.

When we at Attitude spoke to Armacost back in March, known for his epic blow ups with cast mates on The A List: New York, he said he would make for the most entertaining Celebrity Big Brother housemate.

“And if I know another housemate is being shady, sneaky, or conniving, they will be confronted about it,” he said.

Given his outspoken views, Armacost is a shoo-in to push the buttons of his fellow housemates, in same way as Celebrity Big Brother graduate Perez Hilton, who he described as an “absolute disgrace to America, the LGBT community, and to himself as a father”.

“[He’s] a complete embarrassment. He is an absolute knob, which is ironic as he used to be famous for drawing knobs on celebrities’ foreheads,” Armacost said.

“I can’t believe no-one lost their temper and walloped him. He needed it 10 years ago when he was relevant, and needs it now when he is grasping on to a fading career, and will need it even more when his child sees his behaviour on the show.”

Hosted by Emma Rylan, the house will be dressed with British and American iconography, and will pit celebrity contestants against one another in challenges, tasks, and game changing evictions.

Rumoured to be representing the UK on the program is Dan Osborne, Carol Vorderman, Gail Porter, Danniella Westbrook, Sherrie Hewson and Dapper Laughs, while David Gest, Janice Dickinson, Hulk Hogan, Farrah Abraham and wrestler-turned-porn star Chyna are thought to be backing the USA.

Celebrity Big Brother commences on Channel 5 on August 27.
