Paloma Faith took home the prize for Best Music at the Attitude Awards on Monday night (October 13).

The Hackney-born singer entertained the audience at the central London event with her hit song Only Love Can Hurt Like This, before being presented with her award later in the evening by singer-songwriter and former Attitude Man of the Year, John Grant.

John said of Paloma: “Not many singers properly live up to the title of ‘popstar’, but they don’t hardly get better or brighter than this lady.”

Upon receiving her prize, Paloma told attendees at Banqueting House, Whitehall: “I spent a lot of time trying to be more like drag queens – now they’re trying to be more like me.”

She then added: “I’m really grateful for the support of Attitude magazine… and all the gays in the world!”
