The start of December means only one thing for music and podcast lovers: Yep, it’s officially Spotify Wrapped season.
Each year, we count down the days until Spotify delivers its personalised deep dive into the artists, songs, and podcasts that defined our year – condensing hours of listening into a perky package bursting with stats and facts about our most-listened-to artists, tracks and podcasts.
To mark the arrival of Spotify Wrapped 2021, we’ve teamed up with three of the year’s hottest musical talents – ‘Head and Heart’ chart-topper Joel Corry, Drag Race UK pop diva Tia Kofi, and rising DJ Woody Cook – to take a look back at the year that was and get to know their musical tastes (and them), that little bit better.
In a new video series set to be released on Attitude’s YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook channels over the coming days, Woody, Tia and Joel will share their reactions as they review their 2021 Spotify Wrapped, divulging the artists, tracks and genres that soundtracked their year.
As we unwrap the trio’s Wrapped, you’ll learn that you truly can’t judge a book (or a musician) by its cover as Woody, Tia and Joel uncover some surprising truths about their own listening habits and reveal how they discover the music that means the most to them.
We’ll be sharing Woody, Tia and Joel’s playlists exclusively on Attitude Spotify in the coming days, so stay tuned. But for now, here’s a taste of what’s to come…
Woody Cook’s Spotify Wrapped
As you’d expect of his musical family background, DJ, entrepreneur and reality TV star Woody Cook has been putting the hours in: almost 60,000 minutes of listening in the past twelve months.
No surprise a man with a permanent grin would spend most of his time with SAULT’s Smile and Go, or that Common Saints’ Idol Eyes would leave a glint in his. Blockhead as a favourite artist, though? Vive la difference!
Tia Kofi’s Spotify Wrapped
Tia’s Wrapped is a fabulous, celebratory whirl that cites everything from pop royalty (step forward Little Mix’s ‘No’ and Dua Lipa’s ‘Don’t Start Now’) to the brilliant ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ from Six the Musical, and we’re here for all of it!
Tia’s party continues through Sundown with S Club 8 and closes with the spectacular ‘Volturi Waltz’ from the score of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The girl loves some drama.
Joel Corry’s Spotify Wrapped
Joel Corry is the hottest producer/DJ in the charts and took little persuading to crack open his 2021 Spotify Wrapped for our entertainment – the man loves sharing a mix.
He’s on an emotional rollercoaster though: searching for something with ‘Where Are You Now’, (Lost Frequencies, Calum Scott) or ‘Looking For Me’ (Paul Woodford, Diplo, Kareen Lomax), finding ‘Love Tonight’ with David Guetta’s Remix Edit or being moved to ‘Straight Murder’ (Giggs and David, featuring Dave)!
His own single ‘Head and Heart (featuring MNEK)’ features too, but six weeks at number one makes that OK…
