Billy Porter is making a return to music – and he’s recruited some UK music heavyweights to write his comeback single.

Speaking at last night’s Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar – where he won the Man of the Year award – the Pose actor said of the track: “It’s called ‘Children’, and MNEK and Jade from Little Mix wrote it! You can pre-save and pre-add it now!”

Fingers crossed for ‘Sweet Melody’ 2:0!

“My first album came out in 1997!”

Speaking to Attitude on the red carpet before the ceremony, the star said he “shot the video in America last week. It’s a full thing. She’s coming out honey, daddy’s coming back. She’s getting ready to have a full Tina Turner comeback, bitch!

“My first album came out in 1997! Black don’t crack! She ain’t as young as she used to be, but I’m gonna let the kids have it!”

The 52-year-old also discussed his upcoming directing debut, the film What If, saying: “It’s about trans joy. It’s about a Black transgender high school girl. It’s a coming-of-age rom-com in the spirit of the old John Hughes movies from the 80s.

“It’s a story about this group of people that the world is only now beginning to know in the mainstream. I am grateful to be part of bringing a joyful narrative to the fore.”
