Sporting Heroes, in association with Holland & Barrett (6-10)

By Will Stroude

PrintWith a long hot summer ahead of us, we thought it was the perfect time to celebrate those sporting heroes who have captured our hearts.

Here, in no particular order, we present the the 25 sportsmen who have impressed Attitude with their talents, made an impact on their sport and got us hot under the jock-strap. We’ll be bringing you five of our list each day this week, so make sure to check back tomorrow to see who else has made the cut.

6) Ryan Lochte

LOCHTE

This super hot swimmer is more than just a rugged face. An 11-time Olympic medalist, he is the current world record holder in the 200 and 400 metre individual medley. In 2010 and 2011 Ryan was named both American and World Swimmer of the Year and has a total of 70 medals in major international competitions!

7) Mark Cavendish

CAVENDISH

Oringinally a track cyclist, curly-haired British cutie-pie Mark Cavendish has specialised in road cycling (and packing out his skin-tight lyric shorts) since 2006. He has won 25 Tour de France stages, putting him third in the all-time list of Grand Tour stage winners.

8) Carl Froch

FROCH

A four-time world champion and on of Britain’s greatest ever boxers, Carl recently defended his IBF and WBA super-middleweight titles in a battle against bitter rival George Groves, having won 12 consecutive title fights.

9) Jack Wilshire

WILSHIRE

Fit as a butcher’s dog, this cheeky chappy has been showing off his expert ball skills in Brazil. He was Arsenal’s youngest ever debutante at the the age of 16 years and was picked for the national team at just 18. Jack is not only a hot tush on the pitch, but a hot ticket to watch for the future.

10) Sir Steve Redgrave

REDGRAVE

Steve was the first British athlete to have won five Olympic gold medals between 1984 and 2000. His achievement of being the only Olympian to have won gold medals at five different Olympics in an endurance sport has led to him being hailed as Britain’s greatest ever sports star.

Make sure you come back tomorrow, when we’ll be bringing you numbers 11-15 in our list of the 25 greatest sporting heroes, in association with Holland & Barrett.
