Minaj: ‘No ‘Starships’-style bangers on my new album’
By Nick Levine

Nicki Minaj has revealed that her upcoming third studio album will not feature another massive gay bar-friendly pop banger like Super Bass or Starships.
The rapper/singer is currently working on The Pink Print, the follow-up to her 2012 album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which mixed rap tracks like Beez in the Trap with Eurodance bangers including the hit singles Starships and Pound the Alarm.
Discussing her new album with MTV, Minaj said: “The tracks on Pink Print are back to my hip-hop roots. And I don’t think it’s something that I’m necessarily trying to do. As soon as I started working on my new album, that’s just the songs that I’ve been writing.”
Asked whether the album will also feature more pop-leaning moments like Super Bass or Starships, she replied: “Hell no.”
The Pink Print is due later this year though an exact release date has yet to be announced.
