McQ Alexander McQueen launch SS16 digital presentation

By Nick Byam

Alexander McQueen has revealed its SS16 collection for London Fashion Week via its social channels and digital flagship, McQ.com.

Irreverent, eclectic, and encapsulating the renegade spirit of the brand, the SS16 collection will be seen through the eyes of three young creative talents. Photographers and filmmakers Lea Colombo, Jack Davison and Sharna Osborne will reinterpret the collection through a series of lo-fi video shorts, character studies and detail shots. The shorts are set in the crypt of Spitalfield’s Christ Church, a landmark rich in history for the house of Alexander McQueen.

The mood of the collection will journey through New York’s Post Punk ‘No Wave’ scene of the late 70s and early 80s, evoking punks and club kids, before ultimately reaching a destination firmly rooted in the present. This collision of 70’s louche sexiness, tailored androgyny and anarchic attitude creates a clash of ideologies that are at the core of every McQ story.

McQ’s partnership with a collective of young creatives further deepens the brand’s support of emerging talent, giving a platform to both upcoming and established artists.
