Louis Vuitton AW14 Menswear review

By Joseph Kocharian

Front Row

Kim Jones, style director of Louis Vuitton, took us to South America via Paris for his Autumn Winter Louis Vuitton collection. Jones called this concept ‘digital travel’, looking at the world through a screen, and in particular, from space (they’re coming over all NASA on us). Not to ever do anything by halves, LV sent the models down the catwalk on an aerial photograph of the Atacama desertscape, painstakingly hand-painted no less. The boys wore shearling panels, python skins, leather hoods, reversible coats, blousons and windbreakers- a luxurious kit to walk the weather in. There were even blankets to keep you snug; menswear definitely has a lot of love for the blanket this season. Suiting was reconfigured for the journeyman to be lighter, slimmer and crease resistant, using a combination of wool and mohair. Hollywood traveller Will Smith watched on, along with Brits Tinie Tempah and Lily Allen (pictured above right). Last season they had Becks – Louis Vuitton are the masters of Frow.
