Little Mix have announced that they will head out on their first headline tour of North America in September.

The girl group – who have hit the Top 10 in the US with their albums DNA and Salute – will play 16 shows across the US over a four-week period.

It follows their successful stint as a support act for Demi Lovato on her Neon Lights Tour.

Their first concert will take place at Mizner Park Amphitheatre in Boca Raton, Florida on September 10, with the jaunt drawing to a close on October 11 at Toronto’s Sound Academy.

Jade Thirlwall tweeted about the tour: “So glad the #SaluteTourUSA is out there, couldn’t hold it in any longer! #dreamcometrue thanks to our mixers for makin it possible!”

Meanwhile, the girls will kick off their Salute Tour in the UK on May 16 with a show at Birmingham’s LG Arena.

They are currently working on their third studio album, which is scheduled for release later this year.
