Ella Henderson is on course for Number One this Sunday (June 15) with her debut single Ghost.

The 18-year-old from Lincolnshire, who finished sixth on The X Factor in 2012, co-wrote the track with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, whose previous songwriting credits include Leona Lewis’s Bleeding Love and Beyoncé’s Halo.

Ghost has sold over 78,000 copies since being made available to download on Sunday (June 8), and sits in pole position in the midweek update from the Official Charts Company today (June 10).

The reigning Number One, Sing by Ed Sheeran, is in second place in the midweek update, while Little Mix are set to leap from number 24 to number five with Salute following their impressive performance on the final of Britain’s Got Talent over the weekend.

Henderson’s debut album, Chapter One, is set for release this autumn. Check out the latest issue of Attitude for an exclusive interview with the rising star, and find out here what happened when the legendary Cher sent her a DM on Twitter
