A warm, muggy day with a chance of heavy showers is expected at Northern Pride tomorrow (July 19).

Speaking to attitude.co.uk earlier today (July 18), Met Office spokesperson Nickey Maxey confirmed that the weather in Newcastle will be “fairly overcast” during tomorrow’s event, which features performances from Shayne Ward, Sinitta and Steps’ Faye Tozer.

Newcastle has been issued with a ‘Yellow Warning’, which indicates a high chance of heavy rain – but while showers are expected throughout the morning it is likely to be drier by the afternoon.

Revellers can expect a humid day, with heavy air and temperatures of up to 20C during the day and highs of 17C overnight.

Though the UK has been battered by heavy thunderstorms overnight and the threat of rain tomorrow will be constant, Ms Maxey has reassured concerned Pride-goers that “Armageddon is not on the way”.

Shayne Ward, who came second in this year’s Attitude HOT 100 poll behind Tom Daley, will be joined at Northern Pride by fellow X Factor stalwart Sinitta, who debuted her comeback single So Many Men, So Little Time at Pride in London last month (June). Click here to read our recent interview with Sinitta ahead of her musical comeback.

Steps’ Faye Tozer – who recently told attitude.co.uk that she’s looking forward to “getting absolutely trollied with a bunch of strangers” at Northern Pride – has promised a set list that includes classic Steps numbers and covers. You can read our full interview with Faye Tozer here.

The Northern Pride parade, which this year has a theme of ‘Pride through the decades’, leaves Newcastle Civic Centre at 12pm tomorrow (July 19) before making its way to The Town Moor. Visit the Northern Pride website for more information.
