A US morning show host has criticised EPSN’s decision to broadcast a kiss between out American football star Michael Sam and his boyfriend. Watch her reaction below.
Sam kissed his boyfriend live on sports network ESPN after discovering he had been drafted in the National Football League (NFL) last week (May 10).
Co-host of the Dallas Morning Show, Amy Kushnir, walked off set on Tuesday (May 13) after becoming involved in a heated debate about the kiss with her co-hosts.
“When parents do not have a choice as to whether they want their children to see this, it’s wrong,” said Kushnir. “Here’s the thing… it’s being pushed in faces.”
When challenged by her co-hosts, who suggested she wouldn’t feel the same way if Sam were kissing his wife, Kushnir replied: “Here’s the thing! ESPN wouldn’t have aired any of it had he been kissing his wife. Can we agree that this was an opportunity to make ‘news’?”
Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday (May 14) in response to the controversy, the morning show host said: “It bothered me that EPSN used this promote their left wing agenda.”
