Watch | Davey Wavey wants young gays to show some 'f***ing respect'

YouTuber Davey Wavey is kicking off Monday morning with a video that moves out of the bedroom and into the club as he appeals to younger gay guys to “show some f***ing respect” to the older generations.

In the clip, the 34-year-old describes how “fired up” he gets when he sees young and insensitive gay guys who act repulsed towards their older and wiser counterparts, especially out and about at gay bars and venues.

“Let’s think about this for a second, that old creepy old gay man that looks like Santa Claus, and the people of his generation, are literally the only reason that you can walk down the street in your pink f***ing tank top, holding your boyfriend’s hand and not get your ass beat,” says Wavey.

Calling for greater respect, he adds it’s the only reason “you can be in a gay club in the first place”. “It is because he fought, and sweat, and bled, and marched, and rallied, and stood up so that the world that you live in, is better than the world that he grew up in.”

The clip has attracted waves of support across social media who have given a nod to its message.

“First off THANK YOU, as an ‘older’ man of 48 (which does not even feel real by the way) I can say on more than one occasion I have gotten the eye roll or the ewww, which first of all is rude at any age, and second, these self absorbed pricks need to understand that someday, sooner than they realise they will be that “older” guy,” writes one reader.

“If that old guy was looking at you, don’t assume he wants you, he may just be remembering being your age. And kids are cute to older people. Not sexy cute, cute cute. When I see a couple of 20 year olds holding hands walking down the street I think ‘So Cute!’ Not I want them,” says another.
