US pastor advises parents not to attend the wedding of their gay child

By Josh Haggis

A right-wing US pastor has advised two parents not to attend the wedding of their gay child.

Pat Robertson, who has previously claimed that gay people will soon “die out,” made the remark during an episode of his Christian chat show 700 Club, after a viewer called in to ask whether she and her husband should attend their child’s wedding, even though their religious views are against it.

“I would tell your child, ‘I love you, but I cannot condone this. We will always love you, but I don’t condone this activity,” Robertson told the viewer. “Be in unity, and I would say don’t go.”
