Tom Daley has won a silver medal at the European Championships in Berlin.
The 20-year-old from Plymouth finished second in the 10m platform final in Berlin this afternoon (August 22) with a total score of 535.45 from six dives, our friends at Sports Mole report.
Russia’s Victor Minibaev claimed gold with a total score of 586.10, just over 50 points ahead of Daley.
Earlier this month (August) Daley won gold in the same event, the 10m platform, at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he posted a six-dive score of 516.55. Read more here.
He had previously won gold in this event at the European Championships in 2008 and 2012, but was forced to pull out with an injury shortly before attempting to defend his title at the European Championships in 2010.
Following his silver medal today, Daley was congratulated on Twitter by his boyfriend Dustin Lance Black. See his tweet below.
