Sam Smith rumoured to be dating boyband singer

By Ben Kelly

Rumours have been swirling this weekend that Sam Smith might have found a man in the form of Tay Tay Starhz, a singer in the boyband Franklin Lane.

22-year-old Starhz caused controversy in December after he was photographed kissing Zoe Ball, who is married to DJ and producer Norman Cook, at a Christmas party.

A source told the Sun on Sunday that Starhz was spotted out with Sam at Freedom Bar in central London last week, and that they were openly showing affection for one another in front of fellow clubbers.

“Sam kept cheekily grabbing Tay when he thought no one was looking,” the source said, “and they even had a snog at the end of the night after ending up at club XXL until 5am.”

The pair allegedly then went out on Thursday to the same club before going for drinks at a nearby hotel and were “kissing in front of lots of people.”

The source adds: “They’ve been in constant touch. It could be nothing more than a quick fling but Sam isn’t bothered that Tay isn’t a huge A-lister like him. He likes going on normal nights out with normal people.”

Sam – was recently photographed cosying up to Adam Lambert at an after-show party in New York this month – was also seen partying at gay club night Sink The Pink in east London on Saturday night (March 12).

A friend of Sam’s has apparently spoken to the Metro, however, denying claims he is dating Starhz.

“Sam and Tay are just very good friends, that’s all,” they said. “These stories about them dating are just lies.”

Smith, who has embroiled in controversy following his Oscars victory last month after Hollywood screenwriter Dustin Lance Black publicly told him to “stop texting” his fiance Tom Daley, was previously linked to model Jonathan Ziezel, before getting a tattoo at the end of last year which read simply: ‘Alone’.
